Sam Houston State University (SHSU) was founded on Capitol Hill in Huntsville, TX.

Austin College’s first trustee was Sam Houston.

AC’s “Old Main” administration building was built in the 1880s.
SHSU’s “Old Main” administration building was built in the 1880s.

AC’s “Old Main” administration building was sadly lost to fire (1913).
SHSU’s “Old Main” administration building was sadly lost to fire (1982).

AC claims one and only one national championship in football (1981).
SHSU claims one and only one national championship in football (1964).

AC’s football national championship was within the NAIA.

Actually, AC’s championship was a co-championship. The Roos tied in the final game.

Uhhhhhh, you won’t find me getting on any plane to perform at Sam Houston State University.
