Tonight’s a work night for me. I’m writing code for the University of Texas. But that’s ok. I’ve got two monitors, one monitor for work and one for watching AC baseball. It sure beats the salt mines.
The Roos face Mary Hardin-Baylor at home. See the acroos dot com website for streaming information. They are in the first inning now, and third baseman Justin Alphonse just made a nice play.
Now, I don’t know Justin. I’ve never met Justin. He doesn’t know me from a hill of beans. But I do recall another nice play Justin made from a few years ago. He dove and caught a foul ball at a Texas Rangers game. It was captured on video, and Justin got some love from the Rangers twitter feed.
Opening Day is just a few weeks away, and I’ve written a little story about a Texas Ranger who made history on Opening Day. He is also a part of a few viral MLB videos on youtube. And yes, of course, he’s got a pretty good Roo tie.
Yes, the life of a coder is a good one. A coder’s productivity is his own to make. The work can be done from home, pandemic or no pandemic. And the hours are flexible. Friday night work is just fine, especially since I can pair it with a little Roo baseball.
